Winter has arrived in Helsinki but the product development of our rowing performance systems continues and the field testing is eager to test and provide timely feedback of all new releases.
However, snow and ice arrived very early this year and the eager Quiske field testing team and their rowing boat hit ice when out testing already in early November:
Luckily the "Tiira" (=means Tern, a type of bird) suffered no damages and the rowing through snowfall could continue...
Our sensors are immune to cold and snow and we saw the first ever real time performance curves showing the angular velocity of our oars both during drive and recovery. Also we were happy with the real time blade flight paths that show the shape of the oar motion throughout the whole stroke.
The snow and ice have melted for the time being but it will be months and months before properly rowing in Helsinki again... In the mean time our team is preparing for the aptly named Slush startup event and we're even pitching on stage at the sports dedicated Slush side-event Smash! Looking forward to sharing some details about what we've been working on recently! :-)
